Ghost Writing

Ghost writers are paid to write books, articles, speeches or other text officially credited to another person. Celebrities, executives, and political leaders are likely to engage ghostwriters to prepare autobiographies, magazine articles, or other written material.

Ghost writers may be involved to varying degrees , from polishing a rough draft to doing most of the heavy lifting, based on an outline or assembled notes. In certain cases, substantial research may be required, which is why I usually work on an hourly rate toward a projected budget.

Ghost writing is particularly applicable to the

• time-stressed executive preparing a speech or presentation
• technical or academic writer with a great deal of research accomplished and a mortal fear of putting it all in order
• submission of articles for which there is a predetermined word-count
• foreign professional, unsure of his accurate command of English

In nearly all cases the same rules apply;
