Prices
Why is it competitors are so abstract about pricing?
I work for the most part on a per-page basis, often at an hourly
rate, when the project is not so well defined and, seldom but occasionally,
at a fixed price.
My page-rate for editing is $8, with a $50 minimum.
My hourly rate for copywriting is $30
Fixed price work is subject to negotiation, time constraints and
complexity. E-mail me and we'll discuss the project.
What constitutes a 'page?'
The industry standard for a page is
1800 characters, including spaces. If you use Mcrosoft Word, the
lower left-hand corner of the page usually gives a word-count.
If you click this 'words' link, it will (or should) show characters and characters
including spaces. Your charge will be determined by the page-count;
characters including spaces / 1800.
The determing value for billing purposes is the numberof pages you
send me, not the number I return. Obviously, my work may shorten
or lengthen the document.
Editing payment:
- 1-15 pages, billed on completion
- 16-100 pages, 1/2 in advance, in full on completion
- 101 pages and up, 1/3 in advance, 1/3 half complete, balance
on completion unless the work is for an ongoing client
Copywriting payment:
All payment by negotiation, depending upon content
How is payment made?
- company or personal credit card
- pay-pal
- bank transfer
Send me a typical piece of text for a test-edit. Attach
a word document to an e-mail and please include an estimate of the
length of the work, as well as an estimated due-date. You can generally
expect a reply within 24 hours, obviously at no charge or obligation.
